EHC and NEA Cymru – Tackling Fuel Poverty
The Electric Heating Company are delighted to be attending the National Energy Action Cymru Annual Conference today at Cardiff City Hall.
With the Welsh Government’s target to eradicate fuel poverty by 2018 fast approaching the conference is the only one of its kind in Wales and the recognised annual forum for all interested parties and stakeholders to discuss issues relating to actions to tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency in Wales.
Energy prices are a key concern for households struggling to pay their household bills and often rationing their energy to make ends meet. Whilst energy efficiency measures are having an impact on increasing the ability of households to manage their energy bills, the latest estimated statistics show that nearly 1 in 4 households in Wales are still in fuel poverty.
This year’s conference entitled ‘Beyond 2018: Policies, Programmes and New Approaches’ will consider the ever changing policy landscape – with wide ranging reforms to the energy market designed to improve consumer engagement and to treat customers fairly, we need to ensure that the interests of the most vulnerable consumers are safeguarded.
Moreover, new energy efficiency programmes will be introduced in 2017 – including a new Nest scheme from September 2017, and in April the new Energy Company Obligation comes into operation with a key focus on the fuel poor. The conference will also look at the new approaches being developed through NEA’s Health and Innovation Programme which is supporting over 7,000 fuel poor and vulnerable households across Wales, England and Scotland.
Please come along to the Electric Heating Company’s display stand and find out more about how we help tackle fuel poverty and how you can operate your electric heating system can be both efficient and affordable.

Kevin Brown, Precision Plastics (Guernsey) LimitedWe are a medium sized independent Builders & Plumbers Merchant / Home Improvement Centre based in the Channel Islands and always looking for quality products to add to our portfolio and offer to our discerning customers. Quality is important on a contained Island market as word of mouth plays a large part in the success of our business.
We took on EHC in 2012 and , in a nutshell, “haven’t looked back”. We have also received very favourable comments on their solar equipment.
